just a girl who wants to share her love of crafts!!

I was crafting one day and came across a die I thought I'd love to have to use for a project. The problem was that I did not think I'd use that die more than once or twice. So I decided a great idea would be to offer die cuts for those crafters who did not want to go out and buy a machine and the dies in order to complete their projects (people like me who would only use the die once!). And so A Paper Palette was born. My hubby helped set me up and has been a part of the store since the very beginning.

I began by only selling die cuts (which is why the store is called A PAPER Palette lol). As I was crafting, a friend graciously showed me how she dyed her seam binding, and I fell in love with the process. The options are so wide and varied! I can create just about any color... So then began my foray into dyeing and selling ribbon. I absolutely love the process and seeing how the different inks work with the different color ribbon. Some of the ribbons that I have created have happened completely by accident! I keep a running log of colors and the "instructions" for dyeing; however, no two sections are going to be the same. I dye in lots of 5-10 yards so if you order more than 10 yards of one color, chances are that the ribbons are not going to match exactly - despite my using the same ink colors and same color ribbons.

I also sell hand dyed silk ribbons over on A Ribbon's Nest (www.aribbonsnest.com or on etsy www.aribbonsnest.etsy.com). I LOVE LOVE LOVE the look and feel of silk. It is just such a luxurious fabric! I hand dye, tear the fabric into strips, and then hand fray! I have some gorgeous listings there too so go take a look!

How wide is the seam binding / hand dyed ribbon?

Unless otherwise stated, our hand dyed ribbon is 1/2 inch wide.

Some ribbons are available in 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, or 1 inch. Please inquire if one of the listed sizes is needed to determine if a particular ribbon is available in that requested size.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We ship to select international locations. If your country isn't on the list, contact us for a shipping quote!!

Will I receive the ribbon from the listing photo?

No, you will not receive that exact ribbon. Each ribbon is made-to-order based on its "recipe" so each ribbon is unique and one-of-a-kind.

When will my order ship?

My week is Monday - Sunday. I do have a corporate, full-time M-F job and a family, so most of my ribbon dyeing is done on the weekends and orders mailed on Mondays. I attempt to get orders out within 7 days of payment; however, please note that it may take up to 2 weeks depending on the number of orders I have received and when you placed your order (for example, if you ordered on a Sunday evening, chances are it will not go out the next day). If you need your ribbon quickly, please let me know, and I'll get it out as fast as I can!
